Can I go after H & R Block for tax errors that they caused?

I went to H & R Block to have my taxes done in January of this year. I've never owed money or been penalized for anything, but now I'm getting letters from the state I live in telling me I owe them a lot of money with interest and penalties. H & R Block told me that I only owed Federal that I already paid in February. They are claiming that they are not responsible. had an amendment filed by a MANAGER because of errors done by the original preparer. I've been giving until 7/1/2011 to have this money that I didn't know I owed to be paid in full or it will continue to add interest and penalties. I did not buy a peace of mind because I was lead to believe that I didn't need it because my taxes were done correctly. They are refunding me my tax prep fee and the interest, but I have to pay hundreds out of my pocket that I don't have. If I had time I could have saved up the money and paid them before the April deadline. They lied to me and made mistakes on my taxes and they aren't owning up to there mistakes.

Would i be charged a privilege pay fee on my debit card if i buy something online while a check is clearing?

i have $1762 on hold right now with $12 available. if i buy something, will i be charged a privilege pay fee?

Pistol dilemma, 9mm vs 40S&W vs 45ACP?

I'm about to graduate college and go into law enforcement and I am about to buy my first pistol. I have shot and held several pistols and have one in mind I am leaning toward purchasing but I'm not so sure about the caliber. I know law enforcement mainly uses .40 and .45 but I would probably use this gun as either a concealed carry or home defense pistol as I would probably be issued a pistol by my employer or instructed on what to get. Either way, should I go with the 9mm since it will be my first pistol to get comfortable with it or should I get a .40 to be comfortable with the pistol I will use in my line of work? If i should get the larger caliber, is the .40 or the .45 better in terms of handling/recoil, I'm not necessarily concerned with stopping power and badassness.

I saw that with the software Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/), you can easily convert comics formats (cbr/cbz) into ebook formats such as LRF or EPUB. So I'm interested to buy an e-reader for comics reading but I tried with a 6 inches model (the SONY PRS-600) and screen is way too small. Kindle is too large, so I search one with 8 or 9 inches screen, preferably with the e-ink pearl technology for the screen.

I personally would go with the .22 judging by your information. Semi auto I think is the funnest.(If thats a word) And since you have "unlimited" ammo you wont need to buy ammo. .22 guns are normally the cheapest type of gun and theyre very fun. And dont worry about the reviews of reliability unless its a complicated gun like an ar-15 varient or so. With a pheonix youll be fine.

Recently i bought a land with bank loan in chennai . The land is village panchayat approved and also got a subdivision approval for the land . Have applied for building approval and it is in process . In the mean time applied for the patta . But the patta request has been rejected by the muncipality as it is the land provided by government to laundry men ( Vanaar maaniam : Tamil ) . Currently my building approval is in process , paid all the fees for the same . I want to know whether to proceed with my construction , or i am cheated ? if i am cheated what can i do next ?
