What is the cheapest caliber ammo?

I have a .22 long rifle already and I want to buy another rifle of some sort. I am not worried about the price of the rifle, but I do want to buy a rifle with cheap ammo. Generally, what are some of the cheapest rifle rounds that I can buy besides the .22? Just a few of the very cheapest in order. Thanks!!
