Who should represent humanity if this person was to be presented before intelligent aliens?

Steven Hawking maybe if we were trying to make a good impression or impress them, but just as a representative i think the average Joe would be of a better standard? Why not include the ENTIRE population rather than a select class? That way we give credit to the unintelligent, brilliant, rich, and poor citizens of our world.
